SCHOOL BUSES TO USE CELLEMETRY SERVICE

ATLANTA-BellSouth Cellemetry announced an agreement with Global Research Systems, adding Cellemetry applications to GRS’s BusCall service.

BusCall notifies families when a school bus is approaching to pick up their children. GRS’ monitoring system tracks the school bus while the notification is transmitted of cellular networks via Cellemetry to a phone company’s central monitoring facility. The phone company then contacts the family by telephone, Internet e-mail or pager.

The service is being tested by the Bemidji, Minn., school district and the city’s telephone company, Paul Bunyan Telephone.
