PRINCETON, N.J.-Nearing completion of an intense three-year effort with major equipment manufacturers and European regulators, Intek Global Corp. said its proprietary linear modulation technology complies with the Europe-wide narrowband specification recently approved and released for member comment by the Technical Committee of the European Telecommunications Standard Institute.
The ETSI specification, which has the support of Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp. among major manufacturers, has been released to the full ETSI membership for comment, with approval of a final narrowband specification expected within the next six to 12 months.
“ETSI’s development of the first Europe-wide narrowband specification has been a highly collaborative effort among European regulators, manufacturers and others interested in developing a demanding specification that encourages the use of highly spectrum-efficient narrowband technology,” said Robert Shiver, Intek Global chairman and chief executive officer. “Intek Global’s linear modulation technology already surpasses the proposed ETSI specification, and we believe for the foreseeable future, LM represents one of the world’s most spectrum-efficient narrowband technologies.”
