CALGARY, Alberta, Canada-Microcell Solutions Inc. launched personal communications services, branded Fido, throughout the greater Calgary area. The service uses Global System for Mobile communications technology.
In Calgary, Fido PCS service is available from Canada Olympic Park to Falconridge, and from Calgary International Airport to Spruce Meadows, said Microcell.
Fido airtime packages cost $40 for 400 minutes or $20 for 100 minutes. Fido minutes are calculated by the second and can be used any time of day. Long-distance rates are 15 cents per minute within Alberta and 20 cents per minute for calls to the rest of Canada and the United States.
