NEW YORK-American Communications Services Inc. last week changed its name to e.spire Communications Inc. and introduced a new national brand.
The new corporate identity and brand, mark the beginning of a new phase in the company’s evolution beyond its early days as a competitive access provider and competitive local exchange carrier, said the company.
The “e” represents the company’s readiness to meet enterprise needs in the digital world of electronic communications and commerce.
The dot stands for “Communications to the Point,” the company’s new tag line. The “spire” is the top or pinnacle, representing the company’s commitment to high values and performance in telecommunications, said the company.
The name e.spire was first used in the company’s Internet and data services product line announced last year.
e.spire also announced it launched the e.spire Platinum, a telecommunications service that allows small- and mid-sized business customers to order voice and data services from a single carrier.
