PARIS-Bouygues Telecom, a French Global System for Mobile communications 1800 MHz network operator, selected Northern Telecom Ltd. to supply radio equipment in its fourth-phase network expansion. The contract is valued at more than $122 million.
Nortel will install several hundred radio sites in the southwest, Auvergne, Champagne-Morvan and Corsica regions, said the company. The new contract includes plans to increase the capacity of the network in Paris and the surrounding regions, in addition to the regions covering Provence-Alps-Cote d’ Azur, Languedoc and Brittany.
