ATLANTA-World Access Inc. said it supplied equipment and services to Western Wireless International for a network deployment in Africa. The initial value of the contract is $2 million.
According to the first phase of the agreement, World Access will supply network infrastructure equipment, engineering, installation and other support services for Western Wireless to establish a wireless local loop system for business and residential customers and pay telephone services.
World Access is the prime contractor for the initial rollout of Western Wireless’ network in Ghana. Western Wireless is part of a consortium, which includes Ghana National Petroleum Corp. and African Communications Group, that won the second network license, said the company.
