PRINCETON, N.J.-Intek Global Corp. announced it acquired privately held Mobile Data Solutions Inc., the operator of Data Express, in a move that added automatic vehicle-location to its list of services and data applications.
Specific terms of the all-stock transaction were not disclosed.
Intek said it expects Data Express’ Fleet Management 2000 product, which tells the immediate location of a vehicle as well as its past movements, to play a major role in its Roamer One product offering.
In addition to the Global Positioning System product, 3-year-old Data Express of Garden Grove, Calif., is developing other wireless data applications, which will be offered to Intek’s Roamer One subscribers and its dealers worldwide, said Intek. Intek’s Roamer One subsidiary is a 220-MHz license holder in the United States.
