BOULDER, Colo.-Sprint Spectrum L.P. selected SCC Communications’ 9-1-1Connect wireless enhanced 911 solution to deploy in its markets nationwide and bring it into compliance with a Federal Communications Commission mandate.
SCC will assist Sprint PCS in determining its network requirements for implementing the 911 system in its markets, including coordination with public-safety answering points, the companies said.
With 9-1-1Connect installed, 911 dispatchers will be able to see the 10-digit phone number and cell-site locations of the caller on their screens when a Sprint PCS customer places an emergency call, said SCC.
