WIRELESS INC. ENTERS MERGER AGREEMENT

BELMONT, Calif.-Wireless Inc. and Multipoint Networks Inc. have signed a definitive merger agreement that will enhance the market position and portfolio of Wireless Inc. to include a complete line of wireless access solutions for both telephony and data applications, according to Wireless Inc.

The merger, said Wireless Inc., is a natural transition from the investment the company made into Multipoint Networks in July 1997.

Since that time, both companies sales and marketing forces have collectively provided high-speed transmission products to the wireless market.

“We believe the combined product portfolios of both Wireless and Multipoint Networks provide a complete solution to our customers,” said William Gibson, president and chief executive officer of Wireless Inc. and Multipoint Networks.

“The combined assets of talent and technology will position Wireless to continue bringing leading edge products to the converging voice and data marketplace.”

The merged company will provide point-to-point and multipoint solutions for data applications, including a wireless TCP/IP router, X.25 protocol radio, 16 QAM narrowband data radios and a product family of T1/E1-based digital microwave radios.
