EMERYVILLE, Calif.-U.S. Wireless Data Inc. announced several restaurant customers have begun using its Tranz Enabler, USWD’s wireless credit card processing solution.
Customers include Ponderosa Steak House in Indianapolis, Cafe Express Foods in Texas, Yapa Restaurants in various locations and a Burger King in New York.
The Tranz Enabler provides credit card confirmation and authorization via wireless signals. Landline-based dial-up credit card terminals force users to either buy a dedicated phone line or share one and takes 15 to 20 seconds to complete. The Tranz Enabler solution takes only five seconds, USWD said.
The Tranz Enabler converts a merchant’s existing dial-up Tranz VeriFone credit card terminal to a high-speed wireless terminal connected to Cellular Digital Packet Data networks.
