MOTOROLA ENTERS RDV AGREEMENT

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-The Cellular Infrastructure Group of Motorola Inc. agreed to jointly develop and market Rapid Deployment Vehicles with Xi’an Datang Telephone Company Ltd.

The agreement calls for Motorola CIG to provide the vehicle and base station equipment for the 900 MHz Global System for Mobile communications RDVs, and for Datang Telephone to provide the switching system for the development of digital RDV, said Motorola CIG.

The RDV system is a complete wireless telephone system mounted on a small truck used to provide service in remote locations, or to immediately begin providing temporary service for special events, network expansions and emergency situations.

“This agreement represents another milestone in our relationship with Motorola CIG since we announced our first cooperative effort in (Code Division Multiple Access) technology in 1995,” said Xiong Bingqun, general manager of Datang Telephone.

Datang Telephone is a technology enterprise started to research, develop, manufacture and sell telecom products.
