ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-Evolving Systems Inc. announced a contract with an unnamed major carrier to provide comprehensive wireless local number portability systems.
During the first phase of implementation, Evolving Systems plans to install its MetOSS-NodeMaster network element management system to support the carrier’s provisioning requirements.
“Wireless service providers are beginning to realize that LNP is no longer being driven by regulatory forces, but rather by economic and business forces,” said Dick Abramson, president and chief executive officer of Evolving Systems. They “recognize that implementing LNP will provide a significant competitive advantage over those (carriers) that haven’t done so.
“We view this wireless LNP implementation as a great start toward moving the entire wireless community forward,” Abramson remarked.
