SAO PAULO-Telefonica del Peru ordered the first phase of a digital cellular network expansion from Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group designed to extend service beyond the capital city of Lima into Peru’s western provinces between the Pacific Coast and the Andes mountains.
The Code Division Multiple Access network expansion project will create capacity for 300,000 new subscribers in the cities of Arequipa, Trujillo, Cusco, Huancay, Ica, Chiclayo and Piura, Brazil, when completed, which is expected to be in November, said Motorola CIG.
