DENVER-Formus Communications Inc., a high-speed broadband wireless provider to overseas markets, and Unisource NV formed a strategic partnership to interconnect their communications networks in pre-defined markets in Europe.
Terms of the agreement call for Formus to acquire all of Unisource Mobile’s wireless local loop assets with intentions to secure licenses necessary to build local broadband wireless communications networks, said the companies. Formus plans to deliver broadband wireless access services using technology such as Local Multipoint Distribution Services.
“This agreement moves us more rapidly toward our goal of providing broadband wireless access networks that deliver integrated voice, data, video and Internet services to businesses in select countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe,” said Vernon F. Kenley, president of Formus.
