ITRON DISMISSED FROM CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT

SPOKANE, Wash.-Itron Inc. said a class-action lawsuit filed against the company in the Superior Court of the State of Washington, Spokane county, was dismissed with prejudice following an earlier granting of the company’s motion to dismiss the complaint.

The lawsuit named automatic meter-reading equipment provider Itron; its president and chief executive officer, Johnny Humphreys; chairman of the board, Paul Redmond; a director, Jon Eliassen; and Washington Water Power Company as defendants.

The plaintiffs asserted the defendants are liable for claims made under the Washington State Securities Act, the Washington State Consumers Protection Act, and the common law of misrepresentation. The plaintiffs sought monetary damages, other costs, attorneys’ fees and equitable or injunctive relief.

Itron is defending a federal securities class-action lawsuit involving the same class period as the Washington state case. That federal case is not impacted by the state court’s decision, Itron said.
