IMTA FILLS BOARD SEATS

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The International Mobile Telecommunications Association said its board of directors now is complete following the addition of the Mobile Trunked Radio Operators Association of India.

“Since its creation, IMTA’s goal has been to create a federation of national trade associations and companies who have an interest in the growth of this industry,” said IMTA President and Chief Executive Officer Alan Shark. “Having associations and companies from all over the world on our board gives us the international focus that we need to accomplish our goals.”

IMTA’s board of directors has 10 seats open to individual companies and 10 seats dedicated to national trade associations that represent the industry in countries throughout the world. The 10 corporate seats have been filled since the association opened its doors in 1995, said IMTA. However, filling the remaining seven national association slots took some time due to the fact an association is a new concept in many countries.
