DALLAS-Formus Communications reported it selected Nortel Networks to supply solutions to deliver high-speed, broadband wireless services to Poland.
“There is tremendous growth potential for voice, data, video and Internet services, especially in markets where wireline infrastructure is inadequate or virtually nonexistent,” said Osmo Hautanen, chief executive officer of Formus.
The agreement includes equipment and services valued at a minimum of $250 million spanning four years, subject to vendor financing. Formus plans to provide data and Internet services to businesses in Poland beginning in January with a pilot network featuring Nortel Networks’ Reunion broadband wireless access equipment.
