DALLAS-Paging Network Inc. announced it is in the final stages of field testing its advanced messaging network and plans to launch commercial service in the upcoming first quarter.
PageNet said the narrowband personal communications services network will first support the SurePage guaranteed messaging, or 1.5-way, service, with full two-way interactive messaging expected by mid-year.
In other news, PageNet announced it entered an exclusive agreement with Tribune Media Services to offer customized television listings to PageNet subscribers.
Listings will be sent based on program category-such as prime-time series, sports and special events-and can be personalized based on individual interests, PageNet said.
