BETHESDA, Md.-Comsat Corp. announced it reached an agreement with ICO Global
Communications Ltd., settling a standing dispute between the companies.
Comsat originally was contracted to build
and operate ICO’s satellite access node in the United States. Under the agreement, Comsat said it will be paid $4.5
million and will transfer operation of the facility back to ICO. Comsat said it also will waive the nonexclusive
distribution rights it received under its 1995 stock subscription agreement with ICO.
