CALIF. MICROWAVE REPORTS LOSS; REVENUES DIP

SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Including a one-time charge of $3.1 million for the acquisition of Crown
Satellite, California Microwave Inc. reported a net loss of $4.5 million, or 30 cents per share, for its fiscal 1999 second
quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with its net earnings of $900,000, or 6 cents per share, from continuing operations for
the same quarter the previous year.

The company also reported a 6-percent decline in revenue from $46 million in
the second quarter last year, to $37.2 million for the same time period this year, due primarily to continuing weakness
in its international markets, said the company.

“Revenue growth is key to the successful completion of our
turnaround and resumption of our earnings power,” said Donna S. Birks, California Microwave’s executive vice
president and chief financial officer. “We saw improvement in our Latin America business this quarter, but with
the latest news coming out of Brazil, we still need to be cautious in our outlook until our next-generation wireless
broadband products enter volume production.”
