YPRES, Belgium-Advantra International announced its deal to acquire the paging manufacturing
business of Philips Consumer Communications has been completed.
The two signed a letter of intent late last year
and the takeover went into effect Jan. 29. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Under the terms of
the agreement, Advantra will make pagers in its facilities in Mexico and Belgium. Production at the Belgium site will
be relocated to a new building this month. Sales will be handled from the Belgium site for Europe and sales to the
United States and Latin America will take place from the Advantra America offices in Dallas.
