MELVILLE, N.Y.-In-Touch Management Systems Inc., a developer of software and computer
management systems for the paging and personal communication services industries, said its In-Touch II point-of-sale
system has been installed at five regional wireless communications and reseller companies.
The companies include
ATS in Omaha, Neb.; First Page in Goose Creek, S.C.; Lewis-Teledynamics in Cartersville, Ga.; Telebeep in Norfolk,
Neb.; and Tracer Communications in Summerville, Ga.
Barry Meyer, First Page manager, said his company is using
two In-Touch POS systems. The In-Touch system is a retail provisioning tool consisting of a personal computer, cash
register, modem and contract receipt printer.
The system provides control of store systems from the paging
operator’s main server, said In-Touch.
“Now when a customer walks in, if he needs paging coverage we can’t
provide, we can go to PageNet and activate a pager just as quickly from our own system,” explained
Meyer.
“Before, we had to use multiple computers, and if a modem line was busy, we couldn’t activate the
pager. We can instantly activate and test the pager and send the customer quickly out the door.”
