PETACH TIKVA, Israel-InnoWave Tadiran Telecommunications Wireless Systems Ltd.
announced Lattelekom, the Latvian Post Telephone & Telegraph, placed a $2 million order for additional InnoWave
MultiGain Wireless Systems.
InnoWave said it shipped more than 12 tons of MGW equipment directly from Tel
Aviv to the Riga region where it will be installed in rural and urban areas.
Earlier this year, InnoWave also signed
an agreement to supply and install its MGW systems with Lietuvos Telekomas, the Lithuanian PTT. The MGW
systems will be installed in the urban Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, as well as in the rural environments of Kaunas,
Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys, Visaginas, Marijampole and Silute.
“InnoWave has become a major supplier of
Wireless Local Loop networks in both Latvia and Lithuania,” said Haim Rosen, Tadiran Telecommunications’
chief executive officer and InnoWave’s chairman of the board. “Both Lattelekom and Lietuvos Telekomas are
positioned for substantial WLL growth in the next year and this is indicative of the increased regional demand for WLL
technology in the Baltic republics.”
InnoWave said it also plans to open a new customer support center to
assist regional Baltic operators from the network planning stages through infrastructure installations.
