WASHINGTON-House telecommunications subcommittee Chairman Billy Tauzin (R-La.) this
week kicks off the first in a series of hearings on Federal Communications Commission reform.
All five FCC
commissioners are expected to testify before Tauzin’s panel on Wednesday. Lawmakers are looking to streamline the
agency, particularly the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau.
“It’s our intent to bring the agency into the
21st century kicking and screaming,” said Ken Johnson, press secretary for Tauzin.
