MORRISVILLE, N.C.-Tekelec and Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bell Communications
Research Inc., or Bellcore) said they formed a strategic marketing and sales alliance to provide intelligent network,
advanced intelligent network and wireless intelligent network services to the public switched telephone
network.
“This strategic alliance enables Tekelec and Bellcore to provide cost-efficient IN, AIN and WIN
services such as 800 and virtual private networks to the marketplace,” said Cecil Boyd, vice president and general
manager of Tekelec’s Network Switching Division. “Interconnecting our products through the Internet protocol
network drives down initial capital expense and recurring expenses by taking advantage of the efficiencies of the IP
network.”
The joint solution uses the IP network to transport Signaling System 7 messages between the
companies’ products, said Tekelec.
