SAN DIEGO-Leap Wireless International Inc. reported revenues of $1.1 million for the 1999 fiscal second quarter, compared with no revenues in the second quarter of 1998.
Operating expenses for Leap Wireless operating companies for the second quarter were $36.2 million, compared with expenses of $3.6 million the previous year. Foreign currency losses were $4.4 million, while net losses for Leap Wireless’ operating companies were $38.7 million, compared with net losses of $2.8 million in the second quarter of 1998.
Leap Wireless said its Mexican operating company, Pegaso PCS, launched service and Leap’s operating companies in the United States and Chile had reached about 32,000 subscribers. The company’s equity share is about 13,500 subscribers.
