APEX, N.C.-SmartLink Development Network Inc. said it signed a deal with ComSpace under which SmartLink will be allowed to incorporate ComSpace’s digital channel multicarrier architecture technology into its SMRLink multiprotocol trunking and networking system control equipment.
DC/MA is a digital protocol that allows conversion of existing 25 kilohertz-spaced channels into eight digital voice/data pathways, 12.5 kilohertz-spaced channels into four pathways and 5 kilohertz-spaced channels into two pathways. By incorporating the DC/MA technology, the SMRLink system will provide up to an eightfold increase in channel capacity, depending on the frequency band.
