STUDY PREDICTS MOST MOBILE DATA USERS WILL BE CONSUMERS

BOSTON-Strategy Analytics Inc. said it predicts there will be more than 28 million mobile data users by 2003, more than two-thirds of which will be consumer users.

The findings are detailed in the reports, “Mobile Internet: Status and Key Trend Analysis” and “European and U.S. Cellular Data Market Forecast.”

“News and finance will be the two main information services of interest to business users,” said Joanne Downie, senior consultant at Strategy Analytics.

“Per user profitability in the consumer sector may be more difficult to achieve at first, but there we’ll see growing interest in sports and entertainment services.”
