COSTA MESA, Calif.-The CDMA Development Group announced worldwide cdmaOne subscribers totaled 28.5 million at the end of March, a one-year increase of 309 percent.
The North American Code Division Multiple Access subscriber base is 8.8 million. The Asia-Pacific region showed a net increase of 3.1 million during the first quarter, increasing the region’s total subscribers to 18 million. CdmaOne customers in the Caribbean and Latin America regions, including Puerto Rico and Mexico, numbered more than 1.5 million in the first quarter.
