PLANO, Texas-EDS introduced a service offering that will enable Internet service providers, phone companies and others to brand, sell and bill for the latest e-business applications such as enterprise resource planning, enterprise e-mail, collaborative groupware and electronic commerce offerings, including electronic trading and Web hosting.
EDS and Hewlett Packard are planning to jointly market the service offering to ISPs, which in turn will be able to offer them to their customers as an e-service.
The EDS service will be powered by HP software and hardware, and EDS will operate and maintain the systems and hosted applications at its facilities. EDS also will provide billing, customer care and applications support services, said the company.
