REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.-A start-up company called @Motion Inc. announced plans to create an Internet voice portal server to link wireless networks with Internet portals.
The company said its voice portal server infrastructure will allow any wireless carrier or portal provider to offer Internet-based services-like unified messaging, voice-activated dialing and availability management-as well as information services-including news updates, stock quotes, weather reports, Yellow Pages listings, traffic updates, driving directions and travel reservations.
@Motion said these services will be location-based and operate on both push and pull models.
The company said it recently closed $10 million in second round financing from Intel Corp., Deutsche Telekom, Doll Capital Management, Sienna Holdings and Allegro Capital.
