ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. said it will begin marketing personal communication services phones and services under a strategic agreement signed with TeleCorp PCS Inc., an affiliate of AT&T Wireless Services Inc.
The deal calls for Metrocall to sell TeleCorp’s SunCom digital phone service with voice mail, which is compatible with the AT&T Wireless Network. The sales and marketing activity will be limited to 14 markets in the south central and northeast regions of the country. They include-New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette, La.; Memphis, Tenn.; Little Rock, Hot Springs and Fayetteville, Ark.; Worchester, Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; and Nashua, Concord and Manchester, N.H.
Metrocall is 18-percent owned by AT&T and is a nationally authorized dealer of AT&T Wireless Services. AT&T also sells Metrocall’s messaging products and services in its retail stores nationwide.
