BELLEVUE, Wash.-The Universal Wireless Communications Consortium announced its support for the letter U.S. Commerce Secretary William Daley and USTR Charlene Barshefsky sent to Karel van Miert of the European Commission that reiterated the United States’ support for the multiple third-generation technologies. The letter stated the United States would oppose EU member state licensing procedures that limit ITU-approved systems the opportunity to compete in the market.
