BOSTON-American Tower Corp. signed a definitive agreement to acquire 192 towers located in the South from Triton PCS, an AT&T Wireless Services Inc. affiliate.
The towers are located in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. American Tower developed and constructed many of the towers, which have an average capacity of four broadband tenants.
The agreement also calls for American Tower to develop at least 100 build to suit towers and provide turnkey services for collocation sites through 2001.
