NEW YORK-GTE Corp., Intel Corp., Lucent Technologies Inc. and Sprint Corp. are among companies participating in a study, launched in mid-July, to probe successful practices involved in post-merger and acquisition integration.
Best Practices L.L.C., Chapel Hill, N.C., is conducting the evaluation, entitled “Post-Merger and Acquisition Excellence,” which will cover these areas: aligning M&A and corporate strategy; establishing operational requirements to be considered during deal making; integrating corporate cultures; planning and managing initial integration; integrating personnel, support organization and infrastructure; integrating plants, facilities and operations; integrating technology and back-office operations; assessing differences between mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures; and managing antitrust and legal issues.
All findings will be presented to participants.
