ATLANTA-BellSouth Cellular Corp. said it will begin offering information services through an agreement with CNN Interactive, becoming the first wireless phone provider to offer the CNN service in the United States.
CNN Mobile is a 24-hour news service launched in February in Europe and Asia and based on Wireless Application Protocol and short message service technologies. BellSouth said it will make the service available to its digital subscribers using its network’s SMS capabilities.
CNN Mobile provides updates on breaking news, U.S. and World news, weather forecasts, business news and market updates, sports news and scores, entertainment news and features. News headlines and market information are updated every 30 minutes and other information is updated regularly throughout the day, said BellSouth. Breaking news is updated as soon as possible.
