MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.-Illinois Superconductor Corp. announced it signed a test agreement with an international system supplier for Japan’s third-generation cellular system for its RangeMaster Extreme filter.

Under terms of the agreement, the system supplier will purchase two three-sector RangeMaster systems for an undisclosed price, said ISC.

ISC’s products were recently shown to increase Code Division Multiple Access capacity by 70 percent and extend range by 25 percent in live operator installations, said the company.

ISC also announced the previously disclosed lawsuit filed in 1998 by Jerome H. Lipman against ISC and several of its current and former directors was dismissed with prejudice Aug. 11. The lawsuit alleged certain of the company’s current and former directors had breached their duties of loyalty, due care and candor to the putative class in connection with a financing transaction entered into by ISC in June 1997.

The complaint also alleged two claims of common law fraud and a violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act, said ISC.
