STOCKHOLM-L.M. Ericsson announced it signed a $1.5 million contract to expand China Unicom’s Global System for Mobile communications network in the Jilin province.
The infrastructure will be provided by the Ericsson joint venture, Beijing Ericsson Mobile Communications Co. Ltd., and will increase the capacity in the province to 200,000 subscribers, said Ericsson.
Ericsson also announced it decided to divest its real estate holdings.
The ongoing program to reduce capital employed also includes other areas such as receivables and inventories. All measures to allocate capital more efficiently and increase both yield and capital turnover will be taken, said the company.
The divestiture will take place as soon as possible, with regard to market conditions.
