Tadiran

Tadiran Inc. introduced the Pulses Plus battery, a high-energy lithium thionyl chloride battery designed specifically for global positioning system tracking, radio-frequency interference detection and other high pulse applications. The Pulses Plus battery offers 3.6 volts of power, 19Ah of capacity, low self discharge and can withstand temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The batteries come in a variety of configurations, including cylindrical cells and battery packs, and in a variety of sizes and capacity ranges. (800) 537-1368.

Boonton

Boonton Electronics Corp. developed software for its Model 4500A radio-frequency peak power meter/analyzer and 4530 series RF power meters. The software provides complex statistical analysis features for added capability in measuring power of wideband modulation scheme signals such as wideband-Code Division Multiple Access, Enhanced Data Rate for GSM Evolution and third-generation technology. The 4530 series is ideal for measuring signals from 10 kHz to 40 GHz, depending on the sensor, across a 20-MHz video bandwidth. It has an effective sampling rate up to 50 Msamples per second for repetitive signals, and 2.5 Msamples per second for single-shot sampling. It can trigger on signals with maximum pulse repetition rates of 1.8 MHz. The model 4500A covers the 1 MHz to 40 GHz range, and has an effective sampling rate of up to 5 Gsamples per second. Time domain as well as statistical measurements on a continuously sampled RF signal can be made with both models. Pricing of the 4350 series starts at $3,650 and the model 4500A starts at $15,000. Trimble

Trimble introduced its ACE UTC global positioning system module. The board-level receiver is ideal for disciplining quartz, rubidium and cesium oscillators in a variety of applications. It delivers a 1PPS output accurate to 50 nanoseconds of Universal Time Coordinated. The module uses Trimble’s 8-channel technology, Time-Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring and an automatic self-survey combined with over-determined clock mode, which reduces the effects of selective availability. For standard installations, the ACE UTC can be plugged in and left alone while the module conducts an auto-survey and reports the most commonly used time packets. It will be available in the first quarter of next year. (800) 827-8000.
