SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Spectrian Corp. said its semiconductor division will operate as an autonomous business unit named UltraRF.
“With its formation as an independent business unit, UltraRF is now free to design products for a diverse group of customers, including those that may compete with Spectrian. A key advantage of the new structure is the protection it provides for the intellectual property of the customers and suppliers of Spectrian’s amplifier division, and the customers of UltraRF,” said Dr. Garrett Garrettson, president and chief executive officer of Spectrian.
Chris Tubis, president of UltraRF, said the company will provide an aggressive technology road map, providing the industry with high-power, laterally diffused metal oxide silicon radio-frequency power semiconductors, as well as high-power RF bipolar devices.
“These are critical in the design and manufacture of the second- and third-generation wireless infrastructure,” Tubis commented.
