LA PAZ, Bolivia-A group led by Western Wireless Corp. won a tender to operate a new nationwide personal communications services system in Bolivia.
The bid was for $15.3 million, according to the Bolivian government.
Western Wireless will operate the 20-year license with Bolivia’s Compania de Telefonos de Cochabamba. The group, which was the sole bidder in the tender, plans to invest about $100 million to have the new system working within nine months.
