ORLAND PARK, Ill.-Andrew Corp. announced the use of its base station antenna products and services to expand Beijing Telecom Greatwall Mobile Communications Ltd.’s Code Division Multiple Access network in Beijing, China.
Andrew supplied base station antennas, coaxial cables, connectors and accessories for all the base stations in the second phase of Beijing Telecom’s CDMA expansion program.
The expansion was completed in October and gave the company the capacity for up to 150,000 mobile phone users throughout Beijing.
“As the capital of China, Beijing takes the lead in business development and it is this market that all communications companies are striving to capture,” said James McIlvain, director of Global Original Equipment Manufacturers and Asia Pacific Systems for Andrew.
Financial terms of the deal were not available.
