SAN DIEGO-PacketVideo Corp., a provider of wireless multimedia communication software and service for mobile applications, announced it will provide NTT DoCoMo with a software test bench that verifies the newly developed 3G-324M standard and interoperability between various mobile terminals.
The software allows NTT DoCoMo to verify compliance with the 3G-324M standard, which is dedicated to two-way communication of real-time audio and video over 3G mobile networks. In addition, the testing enables NTT DoCoMo to ensure interoperability among companies seeking to meet Third Generation Partnership Project specifications for subscriber equipment, network infrastructure and wireless multimedia applications.
“We are very pleased with the contribution PacketVideo’s engineering team has made in delivering a bi-directional audio-visual communication software test bench,” commented Dr. Hirotaka Nakano, head of Multimedia Laboratories for NTT DoCoMo. “We expect this jointly developed software not only to validate 3GPP’s specifications, but also to deliver a platform for testing visual communication interoperability over wideband CDMA networks.”
