BOULDER, Colo.-SCC Communications Corp. announced an agreement with Triton Cellular Partners L.P. to provide its 9-1-1Connect service to 15 rural Oregon counties.
SCC’s 9-1-1Connect service provides Triton with access to its National Data Services Center, a clearinghouse for 911 data. Each time a Triton customer calls 911, SCC provides the public-safety agency with the caller’s 10-digit number and location, allowing the appropriate emergency services to be dispatched.
“By selecting SCC’s 9-1-1Connect to provide caller numbers and location information to public-safety agencies, Triton becomes one of the first rural wireless carriers in the Pacific Northwest to provide these enhancements for callers who dial 911 from their wireless phones,” said Jim Akerhielm, president of Triton Cellular.
