Leap acquires Georgia licenses

SAN DIEGO-Leap Wireless International Inc. reached a definitive agreement to acquire personal communications services operating licenses in Macon, Columbus and Albany, Ga., from Zuma PCS L.L.C. covering 1.3 million potential subscribers.

According to the company, Leap now owns or has the rights to acquire operating licenses covering 30 million potential customers for use by its domestic subsidiary, Cricket Communications Inc.

Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
