Bell Mobility partners with GetThere.com for travel services

TORONTO-Bell Mobility Inc.’s new Mobile Browser is providing plenty of new options to customers who want access to online services from their digital personal communications services phones.

GetThere.com Inc., a provider of Internet-based business-to-business travel booking systems, will team up with Bell Mobility, a wireless communications solutions provider serving 2.5 million Canadian customers, to provide wireless access to GetThere.com’s travel services for Canadian travelers using Mobile Browser.

GetThere.com will provide access to its comprehensive booking system, called GetThere Exchange, through its Mobile Manager technology, allowing a first-of-its-kind service in Canada, according to the company.

Bell Mobility also has joined with Advantex Marketing International Inc. to provide cardholders of CIBC Aerogold, a gold VISA credit card in Canada, with wireless remote Internet access to more than 450 participating Advantex restaurants, golf courses, country inns, resorts and entertainment venues across Canada.

The deal provides CIBC Aerogold cardholders access to participating merchants by launching the Mobile Browser on their digital phones and selecting Advantex from the menu. According to Advantex, cardholders will be able to make dinner reservations, secure tee times, reserve rooms or call through to TicketMaster to purchase tickets for participating events.

Bell Mobility also announced that customers will soon have wireless access to Yahoo! Canada’s Internet site. The deal provides customers access to Yahoo! Canada content and services using Mobile Browser.
