WASHINGTON-The Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association launched the Wireless 2000 Mobile Portal just in time for its Wireless 2000 convention this week in New Orleans.
The new portal, powered by i3 Mobile, will enable attendees to look up exhibitor booth numbers, check conference schedules and access local information on Sprint PCS Wireless Web Phones and Palm VIIs.
According to CTIA, the new portal also will allow users to look up restaurants and Mardi Gras parade schedules, as well as sample i3 Mobile’s information services, including stock market quotes, local weather and news for the duration of the show.
“What better way to advance the cause of wireless technology than by using it to help navigate the show,” commented Tom Wheeler, president and chief executive officer of CTIA.
