LCC International Inc. has launched a radio-frequency exposure and regulatory compliance program designed to help wireless operators and site owners comply with standards and guidelines mandated by the Federal Communications Commission, Federal Aviation Administration and other federal, state and local government agencies. The program will provide operators with a holistic approach to regulatory compliance-from initial design and network evaluation to site modifications, through field implementation and ongoing legislation monitoring.

H.O. Systems announced a strategic partnership with an investment in GiantBear.com Inc., a web-to-wireless content exchange service and information management portal. H.O. said the combination will give telecommunications subscribers the ability to personalize, manage and act on information across traditional as well as pervasive computing devices. Financial details of the partnership were not released.

LHS Group Inc. announced that Sunday, a consumer brand providing multimedia services in Hong Kong, has upgraded its existing version of LHS’ customer care and billing software, BSCS, to version 5.21. “We are very excited to be able to provide Sunday with our advanced BSCS 5.21,” said Benno Heinrichsmeier, vice president of Asia Pacific North for LHS. “The ability to integrate a set of services into one billing and customer platform is of strategic importance to our customers worldwide. Because of its extended wireless, wireline and convergent billing features, BSCS will allow Sunday to remain competitive in the rapidly changing Asian market.”

RF Micro Devices Inc. said it plans to offer $425 million of convertible subordinated notes due 2005, plus an additional amount of up to $75 million to cover over-allotments, in a private placement. The notes will be convertible into the company’s common stock at the option of the holder at a price to be determined, according to RF Micro Devices. The company noted it intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general purposes, including capital expenditures and working capital. The offering is expected to close by the end of this month.
