Nokia declares dividend, launches ad campaign

HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. said it approved a dividend of 77 cents per share for 1999 with a record date of March 27 to be paid April 4.

The company also approved a proposal authorizing the board to issue new shares, to repurchase shares and to dispose of shares.

The board was authorized to increase the share capital by a maximum of $27.6 million by issuing up to 480 million new shares each with a nominal value of 6 cents. The authorization to repurchase and to dispose of Nokia shares includes up to 224 million shares, each with a nominal value of 6 cents.

Nokia Networks also unveiled a new advertising campaign that will highlight the company’s position as a leading mobile Internet company.

The campaign is aimed at top management of network operators and Internet service providers and will address business opportunities, time-to-profit, applications and services.
