Iusacell launches mobile Internet service in three states

MEXICO CITY-Grupo Iusacell S.A. de C.V. launched its new mobile Internet service based on Wireless Application Protocol in the Mexican states of Mexico, Morelos and Hidalgo.

The company reported it will offer two versions of the service. The first, Iusacell Mobile Internet 1, will be a short message service that periodically sends previously selected information to the subscriber’s screen. The service also will allow text messages to be sent to subscribers through an operator or through the company’s Web site.

The second version, Iusacell Mobile Internet 2, uses WAP technology allowing subscribers to seek information through a microbrowser installed in the phone.
